Features (Em Português)
InterLink CNC is basically a multitask "NC program server". Among other specific facilities for the mould-making industry, the DNC package provides the following:
- Every numerical control programs can be called (loaded into memory or executed in drip-feed mode) from any CNC on the shop floor through a single PC running InterLink CNC (a PC 486 is recommended).
- After a quick and easy installation procedure, InterLink CNC requires no operator. The CNC operator issues every command remotely, from the CNC console. This is true for virtually all CNC machines on the market as long as they feature a simple keyboard and display device.
- Up to 32 CNC machines can work in DNC simultaneously, each one using its respective DNC protocol. Supported CNC machines include: Charmille Technologies, Deckel, Fagor, Fanuc, Fidia, Heidenhain, Num, Selca, Siemens and Yasnac.
- The CNC operator may optionally restart a numerical control program from a given line or from a given coordinate set. In this case the machine tool is automatically positioned on the restarting point (quickly and safely). For example: to restart a program from line 300 000 takes only a few seconds and it is an operation that can be accomplished safely.
- The CNC operator, without the need to edit the program, can configure the header of any numerical control program to include, for instance, a mirror cycle or a rotation.
- Commands such as "dir" and "del" can be issued remotely by the CNC operator.
- Even when a blackout occurs, the CNC operator can find out remotely (from the CNC console) which was the program that was being transmitted and what was the last transmitted line.
- The chronological event logger automatically logs every file transfer, every transmission interruption and every errors or faulty commands.
- Facilities to install new CNC machines and copy, view and renumber NC programs were also included. These operations can be carried out without suspending the underlying communications.
- Some protocols allow independent directories to be selected for reading and writing.
- Although InterLink CNC is a DOS program, it may run on a DOS Window under Windows 3.1 or Windows95 and take advantage of the net facilities provided by such systems.
- The CNC operator, under some protocols, may have the chance to alter some ranges of F values remotely without the need to edit the program.
- The CNC operator may wish to limit the machining volume for a given program. This can also be accomplished remotely by defining two vertices (Xmin, Ymin, Zmin) and (Xmax, Ymax, Zmax). This facility is still under development.
In short, InterLink CNC reduces the idle time for every CNC controllers on the shop floor and assures a bi-directional, quick and safe program transfer from the "program server" to any CNC.
